Fête de la Musique is a fun all-free celebration of music in all its diversity. Started in France 30 years ago, the idea then spread rapidly to over 100 countries including Canada, and it is now in Vancouver! On June 21, Gastown will resonate with music celebrating the first day of summer, featuring both amateurs and professionals of diverse musical backgrounds. So if you like music, join us and enjoy the show!
Presented by the association Français du Monde à Vancouver in partnership with the Alliance Française, with the support of the Consulate General of France.

What an awesome event and night!
That was wonderful! Hope it comes back next year.
I don’t know how many people were there, but crowds and crowds.
Very secure and what a good demonstration of what the city can be with civilized events.
Thank you les Francais for organizing the Fete de la Musique.
We really enjoyed Fete de La Musique. It was a great event with a big variety of musicians. I think it should be a traditional event and have it every year.
You know… it was a good event, would be even better sans cars. Not sure why they would want to drive cars through an event comme ca. The people needed it, especially after last week. It was a beautiful warm solstice and with all the drumming, it was very appropriate.
Well done for a first event here. I took my 85 year dad and there were lots of kids.
After 30 years it was created in France, The Fête de la Musique did come to Vancouver! Who said that Vancouver was a sleepy city? For this first edition 20 000 people came to celebrate Music like 460 other cities worldwide! Congrats Vancouver!
Awesome event! Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the bands. Looking forward to going to Fete de la Musique again next year! Would be even better without having to worry about the cars driving by…
Looking forward to Summer Live in Stanley Park too. Vancouver needs events like these!!
Amazing time! All the bands were great, as was the atmosphere. Can’t wait for next year. We need more free music events like this!
I loved this event! One of the most crazy-cool events that I have been to. I eagerly look forward to next year.
We had a great time! My 2 year old was dancing and loved walking down the streets to discover all kinds of sounds and music. I really hope this festival comes back next year and every year after! Thankyou to all the performers and to all the people who put it together!
This was a great event for Vancouver!
I can’t wait for next years addition, but, like everyone else, hope the city allows the closure of water street during the festival!
Thank You SO Much! I had my table filled with Gastown Art by me ( Gylliayn ) right next to Gassy Jack!
I met the most amazing people and loved sharing my art of Gastown with everyone! http://shop.laggallery.com/media/273012_153642218042671_136327886440771_332021_3803918_o%20(1).jpg

Sponsor for Fête de la Musique!
Yes, please bring back Fête de la Musique next year! This was a wonderful event. I especially enjoyed the use of the rooftop parkade as a music venue. Next time, though, PLEASE close Water St. for the safety of all involved.
