The Vancouver Heritage Register, established in 1986, is the list of approximately 2,300 resources with heritage value. In the 25 years since the creation of the Heritage Register, our sense of place has solidified and we have a greater self-awareness, pride in our built environment and a broader understanding of what constitutes heritage values.

The Vancouver Heritage Register Upgrade will better align the Register with contemporary global and community heritage values. The upgrade will include creation of a thematic framework and a prioritization model that will work with consultants, community organizations, the general public and advisory committees. vancouver.ca/heritage
